Looking for 4 hunters for a hunting lease in Gregory County, SD

Hi Doug, Interested in your leased property but have a few questions. 1. When you say rest of the season does that mean until the end of the hunting season? 2. Will your lease time always be the 1st part of the season? 3. Do you have a long term lease or did you buy the property? 4. What...

I was in the Regent/Mott area the end of October with my young GSP (6 months), she did pretty good for a young dog. Have never hunted the area in December but have always wanted to. I'm retired and am in good shape, been bird hunting all my life as I was born in S.D. but have lived in Idaho...

    Hunting partner

Hey Goosemaster, I grew up in the 60's, have a new GSP "Lucy" she was 5 months old when I took her to North Dakota in October. We did pretty good. I used to have a cabin on Nelson Reservoir between Malta and Glasgow. But after they allowed the ranchers to cut the CRP during the drought I just...

    front paw wound

I carry dog boots just for times like this.........take a dog boot and put cotton balls in it and then put in on the dog. Most dogs not used to boots will not put as much pressure on the paw with the boot. Let it heal and change the cotton balls often. Then go hunting................

    Protecting Your Dogs

protecting your dogs I've used a neoprene vest from Cabela's (orange, it helps me keep track of her) for 3 years now with very good results. It fits tight, does not move around and does not get sticks, etc. caught in it to rub the dog raw. After having to take one of my dogs to the vet...

    Question

question Everyone seems to be content in treating the symtom and not the problem. I've been training and hunting dogs for 35 years (labs, springer, GSP and English pointers) along the Snake & Salmon Rivers in Idaho, tough hunting and have never had to give my dogs aspirin or drugs to get over...

    Smoked Pheasant

I smoke skinned pheasant all the time and they turn out soft and moist. I use the same brine as Bobeyerite: 1 cup sugar, 1 cup salt and enough water to cover birds in a clean, hard plastic bucket. I refrigerate over night, unless it is in winter, rinse birds and pat dry. I use a Traeger wood...

    Best Shell for pheasant hunting??

Best Shell for pheasant hunting? Welcome to the site!! My 2 cents worth is you do not need a 3" shell for pheasants, especially pen raised. I shot nothing but 20 gauge all year long and do well out to 40 yards. As important if not more is the choke you will be using. I would recommend a...
