I don't know the #'s but out out west of Mitchelle over Turkey weekend there was still way to much corn. I watched the birds fly in at 9:00 am and fly back out at 4:30. The SDFG department did the right thing. If hunters aren't getting 3 birds a day what difference would increasing the lmit...

We bring good WI cheese out for the rancher/wife. The rancher also stops in to eat and drink with us most nights. The last night of each trip we have prime rib and plan a peice for him. That night becomes longer then most. :cheers:

Thanks guys I'll let you know how it goes. I am really just looking to put miles on the dogs. I took the two dogs out to the game farm on last week. It is really cool to see how quickly the seem to turn back on and do what I feed them for 10 months out of the year. :cheers::cheers:

I have to vist kids in Madison area during the opening weekend. I am looking for any help about where to hunt. Has anyone hunted the public land in the area? Is some better then other. Is there a peice of public out of the way, I don't really like the put and take hunting lots of one day...

I have plans to get out 1st week of Oct. I only hunt them when #'s are high. It is good training for the dogs to run all day. I am a goose hunter before pheasent season starts. I have gesse located in three fields for the week end should be a good time.:cheers:

From the reports sounds like those hunting opening weekend will find alot of corn and will need to hunt if big groups. That is not my style. I pefer 2-4 guys and a bunch of dogs. I'll be out in God's Country the end of Oct and cooking Turkey dinner there also. :cheers:
