    NRA cotten/canvas jacket size 2xl

2xl NRA cotten jacket with flannel type material liner. In great condition and I don't think my dad ever even wore this. It does have the faintest splotches on the front as seen in the picture (not noticeable unless you're up close and personal! ). Zipper works fine and no signs of use on the...

Crispi Leather hunting boots, size 14

Crispi Wild Rover boots in excellent condition with very little signs of use/wear. Vibram soles. Size 14/48 EUR according to the Crispi website. My dad bought these new but never really wore them. Some fibers in the inner liner from what looks like wool socks. 175.00 and I'll pay shipping to...

Blockers, what chokes are you using.

My buddy who organizes the hunt buys the shells and he loves the Prairie Storms......

Blockers, what chokes are you using.

Way fewer birds this year. 5 of us got 13 day one, 7 of us got 7 the next day (it was raining) and 7 of us got 19 the last day. We worked hard for the birds with 5 labs. All wild birds. We saw much fewer birds along roadsides, while driving through cut corn/beans, flushing up 1/2 mile away etc...

Blockers, what chokes are you using.

I just returned from my yearly trip to hunt wild birds outside of Onaka SD. Since I'm out of shape, overweight, 61yrs old with bad knees, I'm the designated blocker which I'm fine with. I usually get 50% of the shooting the walkers do but tend to get my limit. This year it seemed like the birds...

    Gas Prices

Just filled up my diesel pickup here in northern CA, $5.31 gal! Oh, the cost of living in this state! :(

What is the best pair of boots you ever owned for hunting pheasants?

I'm usually blocking due to a bad knee. I get to stand in one general area and wing shoot birds heading to the next county at warp speed so I like my insulated boots for that type of hunting.

What is the best pair of boots you ever owned for hunting pheasants?

I have some insulated Irish Setters that I love. We hunted this year in 1 degree weather on our first day and my feet were fine with some merino wool socks and these boots.

Bad News Knee - Now the Good News!

Blew my knee out last year at age 58, over weight and out of shape. I nursed it for a yr before having the artho surgery and wish I'd have had it done immediately after the initial injury. Its been 6 months now since the operation and I wear the compression sleeve everyday, all day and other...

First trip to SD, need advice

We hunt the first week/weekend in Nov and have had temps from the mid teens with howling winds to the mid 40's. As mentioned, be prepared with layers and I find I need to focus more on head/hand comfort than anything else. If you're a "driver" you'll work up a sweat no matter what the temps. If...

Can anyone identify this dog breed

My buddy raises them, English Setter. Great SD pheasant dog, we fly one back from CA to SD every year.

    Favorite shotgun?

Breda Brescia 12ga autoloader. My dad gave me his 40+yrs ago when I was in jr high school. Have taken loads of dove, quail and ducks with it without a single problem other than hitting it once and breaking the bolt handle. Loved it so much that my 21yr old son just snuck it out of the house and...

What is the best pair of boots you ever owned for hunting pheasants?

In a few weeks I fly from CA to SD for a 4 day hunt. I hope that my answer to your question is my new Irish Setter Havoc's that I just bought!

Do I need to seal new waterproof hunting boots?

I just bought a pair of Irish Setter Havoc's leather/gore-tex. They claim to be water proof but should I put a coat or two of sealant on them before using them in the field? If so, what product and what's the process?
