I'm looking for helpful advice on hunting birds near murdo or kadika. Does anyone have information on farmers or ranchers that allow hunters for a fairly cheap price? I can't afford too many expensive hunts. Or any public places to go? Is there any luck in hunting the national grasslands? Thanks!
I have a pretty good idea where your farm is. I used to hunt all around there as a kid but now with pay hunting I just don't even go down there. Too expensive and not enough public land
Jim where around Ormandy dam have you been? I have been up and down there and have not seen a single pheasant. I duck hunt there every year but if they have pheasants there that would be awesome. And rancho thanks for the advice on oral. Whereabouts ate you from?
Oral is worth hunting huh? I may have to check it out. All I need is 3 birds a day ha and I'll walk until I get them. Was it hunted hard when you were there? I would be going on week days to get the smallest crowd possible
Do any of you guys or anyone else no if a closer place to hunt birds on public land from rapid city? I usually hunt in Gregory but that is too far to just up and go. Looking for something at 3 hrs and under. I know Lemmon is 3 hours away but I was just curious about other ideas.

Has anyone hunted around Lemmon? I had a guy today tell me at work that the pheasant hunting there is unreal. Is there much for public hunting there or is it mostly private land?
I appreciate that man I'll owe ya big time. I make a trip up to Nebraska every year for a hunt we will have to go sometime. If you are ever near SD too let me know I can set you up with some land to hunt
Bughucker my grandparents have land in chelan. I have never been there but we should try and hunt there! I will definitely make a trip down se to gain some experience from a local! From why I understand I need just ask ranchers to get any decent hunting and luckily I am not shy sobi will be...
Anytime you wanna hunt in sd I am always down to go and there is no fee for the land we would be on. No caged birds there either pure wild. Where are you living now? How bout thee chuckar and quail at chelan you think it will still produce?
I appreciate the information very much. I have a boat so that will not be a problem. I Plan on asking local businesses and ranchers to get the best opportunities. Have you hunted any of the release sights or anything cockrocker? Any recommendations on where to go for pheasants?
