Sasha had a close call this year. Luckily it didn't slow her down or turn her off birds. I thought she got it in the eye because that's where the blood was. Healed up fine and didn't really affect her (thank god). This was after a couple days of healing.

I don't think anyone who hunts responsibly has any issue with game wardens. The only issue I ever had was a game warden who who pulled up his truck to the end of the field we were walking, blocking any shot of a bird coming up at the end. I think he was having a bad day, I talked to him about it...

They also have a hunters apprentice program, where once in your life you can buy a hunting license as long as you hunt with someone who has their hunters safety. Ended up getting a pup from setter hills in Willmar. Jan and Alyssa were great. My father wanted to go back to a Ryman style, and I think we went to the right place. She is an absolute sweetheart, and will see plenty of birds. I will say this, I don't think I have seen a setter breeder...

Do you have a dog from them? We love pheasant hunting, but realistically care more about it's other traits the most. For the 340 days a year we are not hunting, I would prefer to not have a dog that is full throttle all the time. One of the reasons we have been looking at a Ryman/old hemlock...

Title says it all. Looking for a good English setter pup, or upcoming litter. Hunting line is important, but temperament and health are more so. Looking in ND, MN, or SD. Also, willing to travel farther for the right dog. Britts, and munsterlanders also will be considered. Thanks!

Brad, have you had any success with your search? I know Chris Wilson at granite ledge kennels has an 80lb male he studs for a pointing lab.
