Homers are the plan for the future. We will be moving soon so I need to wait until after we do that to start my pigeons and do it right. These fancy pigeons are the only ones I really have much access to at the moment. Any thoughts since I have these birds and hope to get something out of them.

The birds are mature but don't fly when they are in danger and just sit on the ground. The dog has pointed wild birds and stayed steady for awhile but needs work on steadiness since she likes to flash point then stalk in bumping the birds or doesn't trust her nose looking for a sight point.

So do you use this method just to introduce the command or is it something you do on a regular basis with your dog?

I have heard good things about those methods, maybe you could start a thread with step by step instructions on how you do them? It would be nice to incorporate some other methods in my training.

One thought is that the dog food could be causing this problem some dogs tend to be sensitive to the ingredients although if you use a premium feed this might not be the problem. I had a friend with the same problem and that is what his vet had him do, it took awhile but cleared the issue up...
