Another question for you. If she easily finds pigeons in brush that I hid, will she be able to smell a pheasant and make the connection or will she need additional training?
Often when she trails along with me on rabbit and pigeon hunts she begins to run the opposite direction when the shooting begins. I’ve never shot while she had a bird on point.
She has been a partner on hunting trips and shooting range trips for the last year. She’s heard guns for a quite a long time. I can’t get her to even except a 22 at ease. She’s been around guns long before I entered this forums. I understand what you were asking though.
Not sure where you are from but one thing I’ve done to get pigeons very easy is at local small animal auctions. They may sell anything from Pigeons to pheasants. The pigeons at the moment have a very low value so you should be able to get some dirt cheep.
