Hello,
Native of South Dakota who currently lives in Wyoming. Quick question and looking for input the area I hunt got up to 1.5 inches of rain (not sure about hail) in just a couple of hours on the 17th....any input on how much you think this will affect the hatch/survival of chicks?
Thanks...
Looks awesome.. been up here in SO dak pinning some roosters with Riser... I am sure no one feels sorry for me.. but I really want to try some quail.. I have never even seen a real one!!
I hate to see arguments on here or people accusing each other of this and that lets be honest aren't we all in this together? Shoot their are few enough of us left that truely care about birds habitat and dogs. I have been accused of trolling and all of the above just for asking...
It did. Thanks J MAC!! I appreciate it I found some classes, unfortunately the timing was never quite right, it is my fault for waiting so long during the summer to try and get it done. I got the shots and hoping I will not see my first rattlesnake this year.....
I fear my honey holes are clearing out due to cool wet weather for the past few days here....hope I am wrong but saw way less birds when working the dog this morning..I was jazzed for opening day was seeing hundreds of doves consistently at night.
I just found a local honey hole here... I sure hope the warm weather stays at least through the first couple weeks of sept!!! I have never seen so many doves in one small stretch....dang hope we do not get an early cold snap here up in the high north!!!
I think Montana Marginal/poor is better than the area of Wyoming I am in in a great year so I think it is always relative. I was told by friends back home in So Dak that there were "no birds" I went home over thanksgiving decided to give it a go... needless to say I saw more birds in 2 days...
My guess it is the lack of good public land Frangler if that is the issue. I cannot decide between pursuing MT or NE this year for weekend opportunities... tough decision.
Thanks! WHat part of MN where/are you from? I used to live in far eastern So Dak. If you ever want to hunt a weekend this fall in MT this fall let me know I have one young dog who is optimistically ok at this point, but he does listen pretty well for 14 months haha.
