3 years ago I did a 3 state 31 day hunt. Started off in Mn hunting Ruffs and woodcock, then drove down to nebreska for Phez and quail then into Ks, 3 Dogs hunted every day except one.

If there is any kind of snow/rain in southern Nebraska or north Ks forget about getting on the dirt roads. You will be stuck in a heart beat.

You might want to check the US Drought monitor. A lot of good bird ground is in a severe drought. Some places the worst since 1918.

There are no wild pheasants in southeast Ks. You will find a few in the northeast corner but you will do better the further west you go.
