out and about a couple times in the last week, a few new locations moved a handful of average sized coveys each outing; had one covey with really good numbers the young dog has started locking solid on birds - two nicely pointed birds, two birds in the game bag the season is a success :thumbsup:

somebeach, the dog thanks you for the well wishes staples came out yesterday, everything seems to be healing as expected; a little stiffness in the shoulder, that should work itself out over the next few weeks zia, us bird dog owners are a "unique breed" bird report - out last Wednesday...

not to divert the thread, in all seriousness, I have been scribbling down ideas on how to "train" javelina avoidance since last week because of a suggestion made on this forum, "to keep a vet contact list where ever you travel with your dog", my guy is still with me. It was an hour fifteen...

with the last couple of seasons as reference, this year's numbers are a nice surprise - already moved/seen more birds this year than all of last year, which is great for the younger dog because I can count on my fingers & toes the number of wild bird contacts he has had in the last two seasons...

Well the season is over and finding birds this year a little tough to say the least; we did not come home with any pheasants but the dogs handled admirably and we did move a few coveys of quail. I have a picture of a white wing pheasant that I harvested last year; I'll see if I can dig it up...

Today is New Mexico's opener for pheasant we get all of 4 days to chase them around and what fun it is :thumbsup:

there is truth to the bobwhite in the SE corner of the state, few and far but they are there you'll find a mixed bad of scaled and bobwhite with more scaled being the norm

I have a set of Trail Digger M/T on a Landcruiser and have been more than surprised at the quality to this point. The road noise is obvious with a M/T tire but the sidewalls and tread have held up well. Cooper and Hercules are business partners; if I remember correctly, some of their tires are...

unfortunately you are dealing with two separate issues one, not wanting to retrieve without coaxing two, not wanting to give the bird up this doesn't necessarily make for a "hard mouthed" dog but it could be the start if you don't get things squared away I am sure most everyone will say force...

NM quail should be better than last year, but that is not saying much will have a better idea after this weekend, guiding a deer hunt, but it is just an excuse to check on the quail numbers jmac, been hearing mixed reports regarding AZ, seems like there are pockets that did well and others...

had the exact same issue; had to contact Garmin bottom line, they sent me instructions on how to update the firmware and it resolved the battery indicator issue I don't have the instructions anymore but if I remember correctly - go to Garmin website search updates for Astro 220, should be able...
