My father used to hunt on Shackeford Banks for Pheasants. I think North Carolina Wildlife Magazine has featured stories about outer banks pheasants in years past. Thank you for bringing up this subject on the OB pheasants I had forgotern about these birds being close by.
Yes I have heard of the outer banks pheasants in the past. My father hunted them in the early 1950's. Development out there has made hunting almost impossible.
Thanks for the welcome! I am still scouting around Eastern North Carolina for Bobwhites. No-till farming and other practices have hurt the quail populations.

I just joined the forum and I have been reintroduced to quail hunting this winter after many years. I used to quail hunt in my youth with my father and this year I was invited to a quail hunt and I am now hooked . Greetings from Eastern North Carolina.
