    Just a few days left...

How did the season treat everyone? I can not believe the quantity of birds I was seeing up until a few weeks ago (by Washington standards) and then poof, they up and vanished:confused:

    witnessed a release....oh my

well, i saw birds released for the first time today, and what a sight that is to see! and for the record, i gave the birds a good solid three hours to take cover and hide from me while I hunted some areas that are not release sites...lots of birds out there for the turkey day holiday...

    2nd hatching????

Hunted near Quincy yesterday and flushed about 8-10 birds that looked like imature pheasant, couldnt tell the difference between male and female, sure looked like we may have had a few late 2nd hatchings around here...the shear number of birds this year is great!

    Sooooo?

Well, we've had a few days of a season so far, anyone have a report on what they are seeing out there? I hunted some of the usual haunts between Moses Lake and Soap Lake, and saw a fairly impressive number of birds, like my earlier prediction, the quail are freakin' prolific, the wild pheasant...

    Pheasant forecast

Quail on the other hand are prolific...

    Hatch News

seems like you guys in spokane have had a cooler spring/earlier summer than we have. Although we have had a few days of spotty thunderstorms, it hasnt been exactly cool here in the basin...certainly not really hot yet, but by no means cool. I will be out in the field over the next few weeks...

    Hatch News

well, i cant say about the pheasant hatch, but the three pairs of quail we have that live in our neighborhood all have at least 7-8 young a piece...compared to last year, I didnt see a single chick running around the neighborhood...my hope is that this is the same for the birds out in 'the cuds'.

    Upland Boots

muchas gracias Thanks for the input. I have been looking at the Whites, and quite frankly the ony draw back I can see is the cost...if they last then its probably worth it. I tell you, after last year hunting in -5 to -10 through the last part of the season I really liked my Sorels pac boots...

    Upland Boots

I know this is like asking which gun is better Browing or Beretta....but anyone care to recommend a particular brand/model of upland hunting boots you've had success with? I am looking to get a new pair of boots well before the season gets rolling to break them in a bit. I need boots that are...
