So, hunterofbirds, I’m assuming you hunted this year. How were the bird numbers other than the jerk hunters?

I have been going out west for 30 straight years hunting pheasants and because of very poor reports for South Dakota, will be staying home this year. My buddies and I still would like to get out and work the dogs and wonder if anyone has a recommendation for a pheasant preserve. Thank you, John

non-toxic Michigan That is correct in that you don't have to use non-toxic shot in Michigan for upland game. Just make sure when hunting woodcock that your gun is either an over/under or is plugged. Good luck!

We just found out that Lower Brule will go non-toxic next year and having never used it in my 20 O/U I am looking for input as far as recommendations for shot manufacturer, shot size, and steel, bismuth etc.?

I want to thank all of you for the input. We made our trip to SD the first week of November and I used IC/MOD and shot the best I have in years....I also shot a lot of clay birds this year also. Just like golf, a little practice I think goes a long ways, especially as I get older:)

I live just south of the Mackinac Bridge so going through UP of Michigan is the best route.

A question for all those northern Michigan hunters that travel to South Dakota. We hunt in the south central area of SD and when we travel out we go through the UP of Michigan, then down to Lacrosse and take 90 out. Is it quicker to go through the twin cities? We have been doing this for 7...
