As long as you're not hunting super gnarly cover, hand muffs with a hand warmer insert are great. Couple that with a pair of glove liners and you'll be in good shape ??

Hey all, I'm planning a rooster trip the week before Christmas and considering a few days in Western Kansas. From glancing at the walk in atlas it appears that there's a lot public access available than what I'm used to in CO and NE, I'm just curious as to how much pressure they receive...

For those that have been hunting WIA; how bad were the crowds the first couple weekends?

Sounds like you were kicking up lots of birds though. Do you mind if I ask whether you were hunting public or private?

Thanks for the input guys. Is grouse hunting still productive in those areas late season (mid-late December)? If I'm lucky enough to fill my possession limit down south I wouldn't mind swinging through the area for some bonus birds.
