Forgive my ignorance. Do the birds in Kansas behave differently than the birds in South Dakota?

Actually, no I've never used my 28 on pheasants, although I've considered it. The only thing I've taken with it is clay birds on the skeet field, and missed a number of grouse and woodcock. I'd be delighted to learn of anybody's preferred 28ga loads for pheasant, as I'm an avid handloader.
