Trying really hard to figure out how I can justify an 800 mile trip to the land of snow!!

My labs and I are pretty disappointed that we won't be able to make a late season sojourn to SD! Just can't justify driving 800 miles to watch roosters out in the field with no way to get close to them. I would enjoy seeing that ....instead might hafta spend gas money on a few game farm birds!

Always a great things when a young man shoots his first bird (s) I remember my son's first wild pheasant in SD like it was yesterday! He was 14 and his Gpa was there to witness it as well. :)

great pics Thanks for posting those great pics! Spent 3 days hunting the pheasant belt...November 11-13. Limited all 3 days with large group...but hunted pretty hard! SD still has a lot of birds...hoping for a great hatch next spring! Good luck for the rest of the season to all who are lucky...

One of my most memorable pheasant hunts in SD took place late morning after some snow and a light drizzle. My old lab and 4 others hunters harvested 13 roosters out of one 40 acre ravine that had tons of good cover! I think my old dog flushed everyone of them. He caught a young rooster on the...

Miller area PheasantPhan, Hunted around the Miller area a couple weeks ago and the bird numbers were good. Further south...not so good. As some have mentioned south of I-90 things are pretty tough. Enjoy the great state of South Dakota and be safe!:)
