I have been told that in November the weather can still be warm and December is usually colder with a better chance of snow.

I was looking at November or December for my Kansas trip but was told the weather would be better in December. My schedule is really flexiable. I am a gunsmith and have my own business so I can pretty much take off with I need to.

Its already been said that any safe is better than none at all. The problem with gun safes is that they fill up to quick. I found a company called Store More Guns several months ago and their rifle rods will increase your safes capacity about 50%. http://www.storemoreguns.com

I am going to Kansas in December for the first time and I am going to stay in Hays and hunt north and south of there.

My dog box has a 6"x10" vent in the side filled with expanded metal and a sliding cover that I can close it off if need be.
