I do food plots and barrel feeders but I think this winter in MN is going to have a high mortality rate for the pheasants. Next fall could be bad especially if we don't have a perfect spring for the hatch.

I know that most will wait to feed their dog until the hunt is over but was wondering if you do any "treats" during the hunt to keep energy levels up? Had seen someone talk about giving their dog a caramel intermittently while hunting. If so, what do you do?

Can anybody direct me to some decent publlic land near Presho/Kennebec? We come out there and hunt in big parties but I like to get the dog a little exercise as well. Doesn't need to be a honey hole, just something with some cover. Thx.
