You make a good point. I think when I take him tomorrow, I'll just leave him alone for a loooong time - just to see what happens. I have been pulling him off the area after about 10-15 minutes. I'm going to let him work as long as he wants to and see if he sorts it out. I was just assuming...
Thank you sir for your response. After reading the two replies to my post, I think I'll give him more time to "sort things out." I may just let him do his thing for a while and just observe. I think it'd be beneficial just to see exactly how long he works the area before giving up and moving on.
My wire-haired griffon will point coveys of quail, he's got an okay nose, he's no superstar, but he does a good job for me. More often than not, he locates coveys and "Locks up" on them. There are also times when he gets "Birdie" and works an area thoroughly, and occasionally temporarily...
