That area got torched by the wildfire--and is basically worthless for birds as it is pasture ground.

What if released on private ground--not in CSA. I would think if you have a reciept then you would be OK if you bought 10 birds and shot them all.

Can anyone help me out? I am looking to buy some birds out in SW kansas for thanksgiving break. Since there are not enough birds to hunt figured I would buy some and take my kid hunting. Closest thing to Dodge City is what I am looking for.

This is the worst year I have seen in the past 20 years in SW KS. See just as many deer as birds when hunting for birds.

I look at it like this--If they own the company then my service/fees is included with the tip. If they are guiding for a owner or maybe a buddy then I feel like they deserve a tip. Some of these owners are charging a good wage to take you on wild game which a lot of them pay nothing...

Headed out this weekend for one last day hunt was thinking about trying around Salina or Mcpherson area. Any suggestion's on which area would be better or have better #'s?

Yeah you will not make money off of buying land unless you have the cash to pay in full. I have done lots of research on this and that is the fact. This is a big reason why you don't see that many small farms these days.

All WIHA in that area you are talking about was hammered opening weekend and monday after opening weekend. As I was in that area and there were way more hunters there this year then last. I would say every walk in field was hunted at least 2-3 times Sat. and Sun. then at least 1-2 times...

Hunted 3 mornings south of Dodge and it was tough hunting. Birds numbers where really low last year and seem just about the same this year. Only shot 1 pheasant and 3 quail. Sad thing is not seeing a lot of birds and I hunt both WIHA and private.
