    how did ugude's camps do?

BB makes a good point about uguide. He did post a few extremely positive outlooks when everything else suggested otherwise. I'd be willing to bet he wouldn't have been posting that stuff if his business didn't hinge on him having a whole lot of hunters. Seemed shady. Then the whiners weekend...

    2 man tactics?

I would not use the walk and block method for 2 guys, well, then again I wouldn't use it in any scenario. Just spread out about 50 yards apart and hunt the areas benelli banger just told you to.

    Crops

Yikes, really need these crops to come out! Hopefully with some dry weather the next 10 days they'll really start on them.

    Less than a month

"Down from last year" is the general consensus, however, last year bird numbers were almost at an all time high. There was an expected drop off. I think this season will still be above average for Texas.

    Doom and Gloom?

Even on good bird number years, if the crop is out, its extremely tough hunting. Hope the crops are taken out soon. We are mainly going for grouse, pheasant are just an added bonus bird for us. Hopefully the grouse faired better than the pheasant did this offseason.

    Oklahoma public land

I tend to disagree with the biologists when it comes to what effect hunters have on quail numbers on a WMA. At a very popular WMA in Texas, there are 28k acres. Last year alone there were 10,500 birds shot off of it, you turn in a wing from each bird you kill when you leave. That doesn't even...

Yikes, that not good. I'll do some research so I can at least get a feel for what areas got hit and which ones didn't.

    Doom and Gloom?

Okay, thanks for the info. Its amazing what a difference having corn still out or gone, makes when hunting up there. Hopefully most of it will be out. That's one reason I wait until November, less hunters, crops are typically out or coming out, a little bit cooler etc.

    Oklahoma public land

Texas and Oklahoma both have good to great numbers right now. The problem is, they are both EXTREMELY limited in public hunting land. If it were me, I'd hunt Kansas, their quail numbers are way up and you're going to have more land to hunt. I'm basing that solely on the amount of acres to hunt...

    Doom and Gloom?

Do yall think the crops will be out by November 4th-11th week?

    Less than a month

I haven't hunted Kansas since November 2012, I started hunting South Dakota for sharptail and chickens in 2013, quail came back here in Texas in 2014-2015, so Kansas just hasn't been on the radar. However, I have 2 younger cousins who really want to try pheasant and chickens. It'll be one trip...

    Doom and Gloom?

Yes, you are correct. I meant 2013. So this year is technically better than 2013 which was my best year to date. PeteRevv - I think you're 100% correct.

    Doom and Gloom?

So I've been reading a lot of the threads on this forum and the general consensus is this season will be a tough one. It happens, its hunting, not shooting. Some areas will obviously be better than others. I have a friend that lives in Mitchell, who hunts NW of there for sharpies and chickens...

    Lastest Report

Currently in SD. Their numbers were bogus to get more hunters into the state for more revenue. This is the least amount of birds we've seen on a SD trip. It's not over yet and we are hunting them hard. But their counts were way high. It's definitely tough so far this year.

Brittany Up For Adoption in Nebraska

Howdy all, I'm just copying and pasting this from a bird dog Facebook page that some of us UPH forum members are apart of. I know nothing more than what's posted so here goes: This dog just got brought into a shelter in Omaha Nebraska. They aren't wanting to work with NBRAN. Theyre calling...
