I remember a trip where a live rooster got caught in the crusty snow by one of the dogs and it ended up in the beer cooler only to be released very unexpectedly at the end of the day! :D

Just returned also from 4 days in SD, best time to be out the birds are really bunched up in the heavy cover. Worked the cattails around the slough and lake edges. Almost like cheating, dog had 20 - 30 finds a day. Snow is getting deep hope to get back up there again soon before it gets crusty...
