    Price of a hunting dog?

I don't know what my max would be, but I'm not going to pay more for a specific color, i.e. "silver."

Entry Level Gun For The Wife

The wife has decided to join me for hunting this year but being 5' 3" non of mine or my fathers guns will fit her. I know Franchi offers two women's specific guns and Syren has a line, though it's way out of the budget. Does anyone else make a women's line of guns?

    Astro 320 still worth it?

My buddies wife forced him to get rid of his dog this past weekend so he's selling some of his stuff. He has an Astro 320 that he's looking to sell for $300 and I'm wondering if it's wort it. I've never had a tracking collar before but I like the idea and this seems like a cheap way to get one.

    Rubber boot sizing

Yeah I've found the goretex boots seem to eventually fail if they are exposed to water long enough. I stepped in a few puddles with no issues, but a soaked field doesn't seem like an option. Maybe I need to be waxing them or something.

    Rubber boot sizing

Honestly I don't know. I've never owned a pair before but several people I know wear them pheasant hunting and swear by them for not having to worry about your feet getting wet. I had a pair of goretex boots that got soaked through a few weeks ago walking through some snow covered fields and...

    Rubber boot sizing

I'm looking for a rubber boot to wear while pheasant hunting, training, and at the dog park, I typically wear a size 9.5-10 shoe. When in the store the other day I tried on a size 10 Muck Wetland and it felt like my foot was swimming in the boot, so I tried on a size nine and my toes were...

    MN off season training

Four Brooks is a special setup in that the eastern most portion is designated for dog training and can be used year round, I know NAVHDA is there on Thursday nights and lots of different clubs run trials there on the weekends, see http://www.mfftc.com/calendar.htm for weekend usage. If you...

    Park reserve training

There's on of those in the Minneapolis Metro and I've thought about using pigeons but I've always been concerned about other dogs getting involved.

How do you determine if there's a huntable population?

Was driving around with my father in law yesterday who was looking at deer hunting properties and I couldn't believe the number of pheasants I saw. I'm trying to steer him towards a property that would be good for both deer and pheasant, but how do you tell if there's a huntable population in...

    Gun and Ammo Question

Hi, I’m going to be partaking in a quail hunt at a local game farm in a few weeks but I’ve never hunted quail before, heck last year was my first year hunting pheasants. I’m wondering if I’m ok with my 12 gauge or if I should borrow my uncles 20 gauge? Also, the place we are hunting is steel...

    Windproof/resistant mid layer

Yeah I've looked at that however they never seem to have my size.

    Windproof/resistant mid layer

Sorry for the confusion, the mid layer doesn't need to be blaze, I meant I like to wear an all blaze outer layer and I can't seem to find a windproof/resistant one unless it's an insulated one designed for deer hunting, thus why I was looking at possibly getting a windproof/resistant mid layer...
