Agree. Our 4700 acres of previous private pheasant paradise saw at least a 70% reduction in numbers from last year. Toughest opening in the last 27 years. To say that the birds are the same or greater in numbers than the previous year is somewhat delusional or a selling job. BTW 3100 acres...

IMHO, I wouldn't dream of hunting pheasants without family or friends and paying for the privilege. Have been doing it for 57 years, and will continue to do it. In all respects, you always pay something!!

I sure as heck would not want to pay for the state government to do the work of identifying places where you might find pheasants. I think that is your job, not the government!!
