    Garden City, SD Area?

I hunt north of that area and have not had a bad day hunting. Plenty of opportunities all day with limits achievable early if I was a better shot. There are a few really good places in the Lilly and Condi area. I come from Ohio and last year I read all the doom and gloom and just almost took the...

    Any reports from hunters ?

Had a good day from morning to this evening. I got one old rooster and missed the other three that were within slingshot range. SD has my number! Seen well over 4 dozen birds today. Mostly just out of range. It's myself and the wife she's along for the ride. If anyone wants to meet up at my...

    Any reports from hunters ?

Report from east of Aberdeen and North of 12 morning was slow but afternoon was great! No birds in the bag but got up high teens in roosters and a couple hens . Just out of range and a couple I should have got but someone can't shoot! Tomorrow is a new day and hopefully better shooting!

    Any reports from hunters ?

A friend got back Sunday from SD. His quote" " Killed 0 pheasants, but saw a lot of them. "Dog" was flushing them too far away." We had a good time last year should have easily limited everyday but excitement killed my shooting and maybe his. All public land. I will be leaving for SD 11/10...

    School Lands experience

Pete, I'm a few cocktails in and believe I read you'll be in the eastern half of SD in November. My 1st year in SD was last and I had great success on getting in birds. If you're there the week of 11/12 - 18th myself and the wife will be there hunting the 5 outstanding spots I found last year...

    2017 Pheasant SD Survey

I will be making the trip whether there are birds or not. I will spend my week hunting 3-4 hours in the morning have a cold meat sandwich leaned up against the truck tire roadside along with an hour or two snooze and spend the last 2hrs working off the cold meat sandwich I had earlier. No amount...

Planning SD trip, will be our first

From what the USDA drought monitor showed, the drought is focused in the central to North West part of the state leaving the eastern third dry to normal. Don't let this talk change your mind go you won't regret it. Take a rifle if pheasant hunting is going good prairie dogs and varmints are...

Planning SD trip, will be our first

Last year was my 1st year heading to South Dakota from Ohio. We hunted all public ground and got up many birds to which we could have easily bagged out each morning if the excitement didn't get to us. My wife and I are going again the 2nd week of November. I fell in love with the state and if I...
