IF your hunted for 2.5 days and only had one shot at a rooster....Guess what. That's a tough hunt!

Sounds likes it was a tough hunt. I have one more tripped planned this year. Not sure were to go at this point.

I haven't hunted that area in several years. Hated to see all the bails of rotten hay from the past years of bailing still piled along buildings and roads. Each year they rot and get smaller is size. Its a drought!....We need more hay they say! Bailing and grazing was even allowed on some of...

Switched to lefty. I am also right handed but very much left eye dominant. Switched years ago and happy I did. No issues. So natural now and shoot with both eyes open which is a plus.

It should be good. We still haven’t had any snow. I will be heading back that way as soon.

I haven’t been to Iowa pheasants n more for several years. Have hunted there a few times and was never impressed.

Ended the hunt with 13 phez and 7 quail. Two guys with dogs. Missed two phez that flushed in range. Put up 7 coveys shot one bird each. We got skunked in the morning hunt today. I’m sore and the dogs are sore. Ready to head home.

Yesterday was better as for seeing shootable birds. We shot 5 phez and 3 quail. Today 5 phez 2 quail. In the last two days all the birds were shoot in the first 3 hours of the day. Nearly 70 degrees today. So we took a nap then did some scouting.
