    Opener Etiquette

Thank you everyone. This is good information that will help me. Especially the "hunt later in the day" mentions.

    Opener Etiquette

My first year as a SD resident! While I've been hunting there as a non-resident for the last 15 years I am curious about etiquette for the resident opener goes as far as public ground. I'm thinking I'll be hunting public ground around Plankinton and "in the area" with my GSP and Brittany. Is...

UGUIDES weekly results are on his website...

I have hunted with UGUIDE for 10 seasons. This year will be my first in SD without him and I'm a bit sad. There have been several people stating their opinions about UGUIDE on this site. Chris is a upstanding person trying to keep wild bird hunting alive by bringing the land owners and the...

Really sorry to hear that. Hopefully someone finds and returns him.

    Help with wild bird shooting

LOTS of good tips and advice. Here is a youtube video that also talks about the proper way to mount your shotgun. Of course, as a clay shooter, this should be second nature to you (assuming the gun fits the same as your clay gun). Slightly different topic but in response to your third bird...

    Which Camper?

    Chamberlain area lodging

This is so very true. We stayed at Dakota Winds last year. Our first evening there we got our limit road hunting!

    Conditions in Redfield

This all sounds good for birds...finally! I imagine the same is true for many of the surrounding communities also. I'll be in Tolstoy in a few weeks.

Hi Carl, Congratulation for getting this started! I'm in STL so likely will not be heading to Joplin for an afternoon meeting. :-)

    Winter and Bird Survival

NEW STORM COMING! What will this do to the birds? Have the chicks hatched yet?

    left eye dominant issues

I'm like the rest. Right handed. Left eyed. I learned to shoot right handed but switched in my teens to left-handed shooting. Much better after a little practice and more natural than walking around the prairie with tape on your glasses. IMO.

    Quail Habitat

Hi All, I'm new to Missouri and quail hunting. I have been fortunate enough to pheasant hunt in South Dakota and grouse hunt in Michigan over the years though... What is good quail habitat? How can it be identified. I have enjoyed some of the pictures posted which helps a little but I'm...
