It has been a while. Some may enjoy it.

I took my grandson for the youth duck hunt on our lease in SE Louisiana. Unfortunately, conditions could not have been much worse. Fog on the way down to the marina where the boat is caused us to wait a while before it was...

This past weekend was our youth hunt weekend in Louisiana so I took a friends 14 year old son out for duck hunt. 75 degrees, mostly sunny not real good conditions for a duck hunt but we don't have to have cold weather for good hunts down here. You got to go to know and we...
Fortunately for us teal showed up after hurricane Francine hit SE Louisiana September 11. It took some time but by the second weekend of the season they were in our area. We had some real good hunts. Vegetation is good in our area with plenty for the teal to eat and stay around.
I shot some...
Opening day ducks. Unfortunately, I did not get a lot of video of ducks getting shot where you had a good look at the duck. On opening day with all the shooting going on we do a lot of pass shooting. The ducks don’t work very well so we shoot them where we can. Any time you limit out and have...
Teal hunt Saturday September 30, SE Louisiana Mississippi River delta marsh. This was the last day of our special teal season. Ended the season with a nice duck hunt.
We give them all to a black guy who is a caretaker for many of the camps on our road. He takes them all. He sells them in the area to make a little money. By law we don't have to pick them up but we do and bring them back for him. Fun for us and he gets a little action.

One of the young guys in our club shot the the first Mallard drake for the year. We don't get a many mallards in SE Louisiana so when one does get shot it is a trophy for sure. His blind only shot 2 ducks one being the Mallard. Me and two friends on the same lease shot 15...
This was our second duck hunt with my friends Labrador, Jefferson. The dog turned 1 last week and is doing a great job retrieving ducks for us. We shot 11 Friday and he got them all. It has been years since I hunted with a dog but it changes the the hunting experience having a good well behaved...
A friend of mine brought his 1 (his birthday was yesterday) year old home trained Labrador with him on our duck hunt yesterday. The dog was well behaved and did a good job getting the ducks. No whining in the blind or barking ever, really good for a young dog. Video shows a couple of his retrieves.
My son was in the Marine Corps for four years and was eligible for the early special duck hunting weekend for youth and military people only in Louisiana the weekend before the regular season that starts November 12. In the four man duck blind Saturday was my son, me and two of my good friends...
After a slow start opening weekend the cool front brought some teal to SE Louisiana. We hunted Wednesday morning and shot 17 teal compared to 3 Saturday and 2 Sunday. It was a slow start to the hunt with 1 duck down until 7:20 when all hell broke loose and the teal started flying. It was a fun...
