Hunted private up river about 20 miles this past week. Public was poor at best.

I wish Kansas would grow a pair and value their resource as much as SD does. Way too cheap to come to my home state and hunt:mad:

That's a stud! Peak rut should be in the Nov. 7-10 range, with elevated activity about 7-10 days on either side of those dates. It's the best time to be in the woods! I say this because while you're in the woods, I'll be out shooting less pressured ducks and roosters:p

I have friends that guide in the area.......good luck is all I can say. There is very limited water and LOTS of competition for it. As far as pheasants go, there are a few walk in areas close to the bottoms, but as you might guess, they get hit pretty hard. A lot of first time visitors to KS...
