    Flushing survey

    I did the survey down by Hegins today . Our group only found 5 birds . Makes you question the viability of continuing the program. Definitely not enough habitat. Most fields in the area are cut to dirt. The fields we did walk were rather small with few habitat on neighboring farms.

    I would love to see increased spending on grouse habitat but the best thing they could do for grouse is to start timber ingredients in more areas

    Today the PGC preliminary approved the $25 a year pheasant stamp. Final approval likely in March.

    I don't know how I missed it. And I was hunting NJ Saturday morning. It would be great if PA would have a stocking in one of the last two months of the season.
