    Lease

Good Folks UGA, I take it that you are in the hotel and/or restaurant business, then? I have to chuckle every time I see these one of these "we spend loads of money in their back yards, the least they could do is to give us free run of their farms" rants. Good hunting areas are getting...

    land prices lately?

Tax Your attorney is technically correct, it isn't a new tax - it is an old one that was "temporarily" eliminated - with the hold expiring in 2011. Chances that it will be made permanent or even extended with current distribution of "R"s, "D"s and "I"s is zero - and I'd lay odds that even...

    Getting stuck!

Ruts Great post. I've found myself in the same pickle but, like you and the vast majority of those posting here, never if I can avoid it. I just try to treat the roads and fields - fenced or not - as if I still lived there in east Egypt (or as I call it, Heaven :-), and remember that even...

    land prices lately?

    land prices lately?

Estate taxes Exactly - not many impacted in 2010. But 2011 and subsequent years arel be a different story. There was an election..... No expert on trusts, but I'm not aware of any exemptions - the tax is on the estate, not the heirs.

    Getting stuck!

Roads Well now that you mention it - how hard would it have been to back out a bit, turn around and take the next section road over to that nice paved road in the background? I leave some money in KS every year (most of it, in property taxes) - OK if I test my 4x4 on your front lawn there...

    land prices lately?

Prices Patience, my pretties! When estate taxes kick back in full force next year - there will be many forced sales to "death taxes" as not many folks have that kind of money sitting around - and U. Sam get paid up front, in cash. Ample supplies mean lower prices - there just hasn't been...

    Boots

Unimpressed with boots lasting 7 years since your legs are so long that boot sole meets ground maybe 10 times per mile. Where do you buy trousers to fit? :-)
