And... a lot of the CRP that is left is well past its prime and not very productive for pheasants. If there is a good sign up of new CRP acreage this month, that could be great for pheasant hunting in the next several years - some of that early CRP is the best :thumbsup:

Hi there - you did well seeing 100 birds or so. In NE Colo I saw maybe 30-40 birds each day. Were you in the NE or SE part of the state? Just wondering I'm planning on going to the SE corner of the state later in the season to hunt quail (primarily). Thanks and continued good luck to you, Doug

Congrats on another great day of hunting. After shooting a limit the previous week I went back out this past Saturday. I came back with nothing - I saw birds but they were very spooky the whole day. Never had a good shot at any roosters. Some days the birds win....;)

POL - thanks for the info and for speaking up at your Pheasants Forever meeting. I can understand CPW's concern for stimulating more license sales and getting more hunters involved in the sport. IMHO, the best way to do that is by having more quality habitat and better wild bird populations...

Totally agree. If funding is an issue, it seems like a no-brainer to charge a fee to help pay for the WIA program. This would enable the Division to pay landowners a competitive rate to enroll more of their land. I would gladly pay a $20-30 fee if that what it takes to build the program. I...
