If I was a mountain lion I certainly wouldn't mind living in Kansas. Snack on pheasant all day and stalk up a deer napping in the CRP. Can't get much easier than that.

Funny this thread came up. My friend and I just got back from a trip to Kansas and he saw one on a wiha. It screamed at him and then he saw it in the grass, long tail and all. He was FREAKED out! He said he has never felt true fear shoot thru his body like that before.

How much further north from Meade would you have to go to get into the snow? I am headed up to meade this afternoon and don't know where the snow is in the area right now.

We are headed to an area south of there this afternoon. Looking forward to our first Kansas pheasant hunt! I have seen just cold weather and overcast for the rest of this week. Haven't seen any precip in the forecast but I guess it depends on which one you look at.

Hotels in meade?

There's bad apples in every state. I'm sure there are some residents of Kansas that qualify as bad apples too. To even mention closing the border or not allowing hunting for NR's seems way over the top to me. What if every state took that same position as you are sugggesting? The problem is not...

Looks like we decided on the Meade area. Any hotel recommendations for Meade?

I'm gonna be up in the Meade area on the 12-15th. I hope we hit it right with the weather!
