    Jetmore/Dodge City Recent Reports

***UPDATE*** Just got back from a long weekend in SW Kansas and just wanted to update the thread with our hunting results. Got to the field on Friday around 2pm between Dodge City/Jetmore on WIHA. We saw a fair amount of pheasant activity, just nothing close enough to shoot at. As sunset...

Was the quail you saw on WIHA? I had kind of hoped we would have seen some on our first trip but never saw a single quail. Thanks for the update.

    Jetmore/Dodge City Recent Reports

Wife, two sons, and myself are headed back out to Jetmore/Dodge City area thanksgiving weekend. We hunted WIHA on opening weekend and saw decent amount of birds that seemed to be holding pretty decent for the dogs to point. Anyone hunt this area in that last week and have any reports good/bad...

Talbom, Step 1 Download Google Earth from here: http://earth.google.com/ Step 2 Install Google Earth Step 3 Locate the WIHA-2009.kmz file you saved on your computer and double-click it. It should then open up Google Earth and zoom to state of kansas.

Interesting, I can see it now. Mr. Farmer: "Boy, what are you doing hunting my land" Mr. New Wave Techie Hunter: "I thought it was walk-in, you see here on my field laptop, it shows this piece of land as WIHA" Mr. Farmer: "Let me see that Notebook, crunch" End of Story, End of hunt...

I re-downloaded the data about 30 minutes ago to create the kmz file I uploaded. What area are you looking at that is different? Quickly glancing at your screen cap of hodgeman county and mine I don't see any glaring difference. Looking at the shapefile included in the zip file mine shows a...

I downloaded mine through http://www.kansasgis.org/ which link to this location http://clone.kgs.ku.edu/cultural_and_recreational/shp/WIHA/2009_Fall_WIHA.zip. Ran it through ArcGIS and used ArcScript from esri to export to KML. Opened KML through Google Earth and exported to KMZ to reduce file...

    Today sucks!

Sorry to hear about your dog, I feel your pain. Last year we had weight problems with our GSP and took him in a month before pheasant opener. Vet tests him and says hook worms, no problem give him medicine he'll be fine. Two weeks go by and he's still losing weight so we take him back. Uh...

Taking my wife for her first pheasant hunt next weekend.

Just got back from Dodge City hunting with the Wife, and two sons 12 and 7. We hunted WIHA between DC and Jetmore. Had a great time and got plenty chances to shoot some roosters, I shot 2 and missed 2. Wife and kids missed about 8, lol, but they are hooked now. Pheasant were holding pretty...
