Is it worth hunting Sharpies in MN? Do folks go with seeing them consistently? Or us it a deal walk all weekend, hoping for 1 shot?

How do you tell the difference between a hen pheasant and a prairie chicken? I asked someone I know in person, and they said, oh you'll know. But HOW? What do you guys look for?

I'm under the correct assumption CREP lands in general should have better habitat than walk in areas due to walk ins can be hayed and likely will be this year?

The website said Oct. 9th for a while, but the books said the 16th. I have heard a few confused people.

So i have only hunted pheasant in MN, and have had some decent hunts and have seen agood amount of birds in my opinion. So my question is South Dakota THAT much better than MN? Will it live up to the hype if i go hunting there?

This season has been tougher than others for solo hunting. I find most my pheasants in "structure". Alot of red willows, and other brush. This season I have had the worst luck on the "structures" blocking my shooting. Ive had my dog work up wind while I am on the other side and vice versa...

Went out today and had a productive hunt. Flushed 5 roosters and 4 hens. Only 2 roosters cooperated on the direction of the flush due to the thick cover and I only hit one. Between opening weekend and today I've logged 12 miles. So far this season it calculates to 1.3 pheasants flushed per mile...
