I have a uncle who farms here in Emmet county, right next to Dickinson county. He has a stand of pine trees on his farm. He told me he had 15 deer sand 35 pheasnt hiding in it while we had all the snow and blowing. About a third of the birds were roosters.I'll try to be cautiously optomistic.

I don't get to wound up about openers anymore. I usually let the out of staters have it the first couple weekends. Besides, it's usually to warm for my dog. On the upside. I'll be off of work from November 11th through January 4th. Should give me a little time to bag a few roosters.

I was thinking they also have a regular tin pant in single, double and triple layers ? I've heard of the pants you're talking about.

You may want to check out what Filson has to offer. I personally have never had any products from them so I can't vouch for them. But, I've heard many good things about their products.

I think break action guns are great for youth as long as the gun isn't a break action single shot with a hammer. I went with a semi auto 20ga for my daughter after doing the research. Apparently a single shot break action shotgun with a hammer can become inadvertantly cocked by a child.
