Over 40. I ditto the lost of habitat. I would also add the lack of private land owners allowing you to hunt their land. Owners that use to allow hunters on their land are now looking for everyone to pay a fee.

If I read the hunting regulations right it seems that it is legal to take pheasants with a .22. Is this correct and has anyone ever done it?

I would check out Ralph Hayford from down by Montgomery, Minnesota. He works primarily with labs but he did a great job of helping me with my gunshy Vizsla.

I have heard from various people that in dry conditions you should wet the head of your pointing dog to help it detect scent better. Have any of you heard this also? Have you done it? Does it work?
