I hunted public ground in the panhandle of the state and shot 6 birds in three days. I saw on maybe 50 total birds. I hunted around the Kearney area on thanksgiving and shot 3 roosters, 3 chickens, 3 quail and a coyote.
In Nebraska you must leave a wing and leg attached to the bird for sex id. I would rather just clean the bird at home and not risk getting a ticket for no id on the bird. The fines in Nebraska can coast a good penny for no id.
I took my SXP 20 gauge out the last two days and loved it. The gun fits like a glove. Dove a Grouse season started on Sept 1st so I figured I would give it a try. 3 prarie chickens and 5 dove out of 13 shells, 2nd day I went 3 for 3 on Chickens. All birds shot with federal 7/8oz 7.5s.

You can at times swing to fast with short barrels which can effect lead on the target.
