We started at 730 to let the early birds get out of the parking lot. We hunted till 1200 or so and we had our limet of 8 dogs were happy to be out. Had a couple good pionts but most of the birds were running. Had a great day with friends and family thats what its all about
I was out and did the same thing. Stayed with a family member in rapid city. We drove and hour to hunt. Some pheasants, lots of grouse. Hard on dog that early in the season we had small cactus in the feild and it was hard on the dogs feet. But we killed birds every day we hunted. Some...
All. How else can you constantly go out and kill the number of rosters they kill every day. With out the birds being pushed off or just killing all the roster and then just see hens
I always try to look for mine and I do have a hard time finding them. So if I happen to see one while walking I pick it up to think somebody might pick up mine if I don't find mine
I agree with tbear. It's a little intimidateing I was out for the first time and we did ok. Just use your best judgement and you will have a great time

The hotel we stayed at had a nice clean area with a hose. It was real nice to clean birds. They even gave you bags to put your meat in. They really cater to hunters at the local motels. We stayed at Hutches. In Presho.
I saw some of that to while hunting. The game and fish if you read he walkin atlas ask you not to clean birds in the ditches. I would say if you call tips or the fish and game the my would patrol the area. I saw two wardens while I was out
Pulled out of South Dakota after our first time. We ended up after 4 days of hunting and learning. With 7 roosters 5 sharptail and one prairie chicken. Missed some to. 5 guys one Gsp. What does it mean for a dog to lose its nose
Both those grasslands are way to far west I would say. I would probably recommend the fort Perrie grasslands. I'll give you a report tomarrow. Been hunting the buffalo gap. Not bad hunting but hard on dog with small cactus growing in the grass we did have good time. There are birds to be found
