I suggest you do a little more research on 16 gauge before you relegate it to the fireplace. But do this only if you are interested in knowing the truth.

I checked on the #5's in the new Federal pheasant load the other day. I found one local store that could order them for (drum roll please) $245 a flat. I'll be loading my own pheasant loads from now on.
Don't be hard on your dog. It takes ALOT of game birds to make a good dog. The more game birds your dog has contact with the less tweetys he will want to fool with. I don't think this the place to use your e-collar. patience and birds make for great bird dog.
Ihave a DT systems spt 7400. It is an older model but basically has everything there new 2400 has except the jump rise.
It works great. I would like a smaller box on the collar for my next purchase. My GSP doesn't like the large DT systems box under her neck.
