Heading out with good buddy my Shorthair and second season for his visla. Have grown to not expect great things on opener. Just good to knock the rust off, good luck to all.

Was out 12/6/2016 had day off planned for a few weeks no changing so went out anyways. Word of the day was BRUTAL.... We found birds had opportunities but the shooting was not easy gust of 40+ all day and a avg. of 35mph all day long. Lots of wet spots with only a small film of ice fell in up to...
I usually hunt during deer and have had little to no problems I let the deer hunters have a spot and move on if its not open. They get a few weeks only we get months, enough land for us all. :cheers:
I know exactly what you mean (BRITTMAN) I was telling my two buddies that hunted with yesterday who I got into pheasant hunting this same thing. I hunt with these two now whenever they call got one started about 5 years ago and the other this is his 3rd year.
05-06-07 were great years Hopefully...
Made it out west yesterday beautiful weather. Lost count of birds out in the middle of the fields picking/scratching for food, one spot counted 11 Roosters 7 Hens. Hunted public and birds held tight ended with 4 Roosters all came out of or near Heavy cover. Planning next hunt can't wait late...
Have had tomorrow planned as a day off for weeks now why wouldn't we get a snow storm.. Tracking weather and snow fall totals to see if me and my two buddies are going to brave it. Mother nature cares less about my needs :mad:
I'll be out this weekend as well four guys one being my old man. I know with deer open it does limit some areas but I have always had no problem finding birds or places to hunt. If you see an orange army doing a drive move on. Plenty of land, in some cases I feel it helps move birds walk slow...
Nice pics miller56001 was out a few weekends ago sw and bagged a woodcock also on a great point was a but surprised thought for sure Hawk had a Rooster pinned.
