Greene County is usually my go to. Others probably know more specifics but I do know IA DNR has a great atlas for all public areas if you haven't stumbled across that yet. I think if you chose a spot, you could probably find some accommodations in certain areas...

Hard to say for sure, but I think it's a matter of time, money, and effectiveness. Iowa has about 1.5% of it's land devoted to public area if I remember correctly. And farmers are expanding their properties which takes a toll on natural habitat. So they could relocate the birds, but there's no...

Haven't been out a ton but I'm in the Southwest and seeing about 2:1 for hens and roosters actually. Either way, it's pretty slow down here still.

Nice write up! Hawks looking amazing this year! I'm down in Pott county but got up to Greene the other week and kicked a few up. Hoping to get a bit further North still. This is definitely encouraging though.

Been hunting since I was a teenager down in Pott County. Little rough these days around here, but Il ndont mind a bit of travel. Usually head a little Northeast. Hope everyone's having a good season so far!
