I am very pleased with this purchase. I found a few reviews and they reflect some good things as well. Hopefully my shooting will live up to the gun and the fine gun dog I will have in front of me this year!
The balance is great and the grade III walnut is sweet. The Anson and Deely boxlock has...
Dustin, what name is on your sxs (was its W&S too).
Trying to find a recently produced sxs in good quality at an affordable price is tough. Baretta's Silver Hawk is nice but starts to get pricey. Browning BSS are nice but not made anymore and a nice version in English stock starts to get...
Anybody have any experience with the Webley and Scott 712 sxs? It is a more recently made gun.
Fausti made it using a Webley and Scott boxlock design under contract with W&S with Webley & Scott name.
I also saw the exact same gun at Bass marketed under the Fausti name but in a 410/28 gauge two...
Dave ... good meeting you too. I was very impressed how friendly everyone was and just the great vibe at the trial. My wife and daughter had a lot of fun too.
Looking forward to seeing Fritz and some of his and Dolly's pups run this weekend ... plus Sioux's dad as well.

Started off working the pup with a bumper in a long hallway then this weekend tried some frozen quail in a larger enclosed area.... then outside. Sioux has been doing pretty well with each step. We have kept the sessions short and fun. So far so good!!

Well .... I went to my first field trial and brought Sioux along to watch as well. What a great event. Super fields and even better dogs. I was able to see some other pups from my friend Adam's kennel as well as see Beg Garcia run some dogs. Ben sure has a connection with Adam's dogs.
My wife...
Hope everything works out. Looks like our 8 year old chocolate lab who had an English style lab for a sire and American style for a mom. He is a monster size wise ... got the height from his mom and head and body style from his dad.
Due to some other things going on when we got him, I was not...
I was having some fun in the field behind the house and my wife (who is a photographer) was fooling around with some lenses.
Sioux is 10 weeks old now. Saturday we had him back at Ironwire for a reunion with some of his mates. Wish we had the camera out as watching 4 of the litter scramble over...
Sioux Joins his new Home!
Well the new addition joined his new home yesterday. Our 6 year old daughter has been over the moon!

Meg and the pup!
CO Weimer .... it was actually a beauty of a Weimaraner ...... when I was just a little kid that got me hooked on the idea of pointing dogs. A delicate looking little lady who was made of steel.
Birds Dusty Duchess:)
Dusty was utterly fearless and would retrieve in the iciest water, with winds...
I had originally though I'd never be able to talk her into bird hunting .... but ....
She had some of my friends special pheasant spread on crackers the other day while visiting the pups. She loved it .... bugged us into getting the recipe and making a batch at our house.
So ..... just maybe...
Thank you for all the positive comments! We sure are excited about this pup. I am lucky enough to have a great wife who supports my getting back into hunting and also happens to be a photographer. The pics are with her camera and she took all of them except the one she is in.
