What breed of dog do you have?

I suggest you google it. Lots of videos on you tube on how to care for small wounds. I’ve done several cuts in friends dogs and they didn’t even flinch when getting stapled. My wife did a cut on my young shorthair by herself and after talking her through it, she was surprised on how easy it was.

If it was my dog and no vet available, it would have been flushed with iodine and stapled.

Personally I would grab one with 28” barrels.

In case of hypoglycemia, Any dog can get low blood sugar levels after a long hard day of hunting or several days in row. I haven’t had to use it on my dogs but did on a friend’s. If seizures happen, you don’t have to get them to swallow just get on the tongue.

And I forget to add, I also carry honey packets in my vest.

In my vest I carry cable cutters, needle nose, quick clot, vet wrap, black tape, gauze, wooden dowel with attached cord (to keep mouth open to pull quills and a leash. In my truck I have human first aid kit. Plus extra stuff for the dog, iodine, saline, wound stapler, razor, scissors, forceps...
