Any recommendations on lodging in Timber Lake or vicinity? We are a group of four retirees from NC. Have not hunted over there on that side of the river but were thinking of trying it in mid November. Will certainly appreciate any suggestions! Thanks....hwb

Re Miller's Lodging Akaska Sorry to blame the dogs guys. No, we don't let them run wild outside a motel. Still we'd prefer to be off the beaten path. So, if anyone has stayed at Miller's, would love to get a candid assessment of their cabins. Thanks!....hwb

Thanks Thanks for the replies. We've stayed at Selby (Hilltop). Nice motel, fairly new, but right on the 55 mph highway so not so great for the bird dogs. The Selby Motel I think is OK too but doesn't allow the dogs in rooms. Miller's Lodging might be good. Anyone out there stayed there...

We'll have three or four hunters, want to be in this region the second week in November. Need dog friendly (not on a major highway and OK for well behaved lab and brit to room in). The more rural and rustic the better..... Any recommendations? Thanks....hwb

Hunted with four experienced guys with good dogs this week. Very spotty at best. We got a few birds some days and no birds a few days. Great habitat, just very few birds at least on public lands.

Anyone using bells on dog collars? Looking for a low tech solution to keeping tabs on my Brittany in thick cover. Would they spook wild birds? ....

We are four hunters coming from the Carolinas/Virginias in early November, with three dogs. We'll be freelancing it on the hunting. We'd like to find a cabin or two to stay in within a short drive of Mobridge. Any recommendations? thanks... HW Bowles

Has anyone hunted public lands around Mobridge in the last two weeks? We are considering driving out from the east coast, really liked the Mobridge area in the past but am concerned about the bird count picture. Thanks!....hwb
