Last year was my last youth hunt for one of my kids. My son shot a nice bird each day. It's great to hear others are going out. I'm in central iowa and would like the opportunity to take some kids that want to go.

22 pistol I still haven't made my hand gun purchase yet. Life keeps getting in the way (auto,camper,home repairs and oh yes the BIG ONES kids:rolleyes:). I went to a gun range that has rental guns and did some try outs. The ruger sr22 is on the top of my list when it's time to spend the money...

Thanks great information...i've heard a lot of horror stories about picky guns that only shoot high end shells.

22 Walther also offers the ppq 22 with a 12 round capacity.

What are some of your thoughts on 22 semi auto pistols? I'm looking for all around use carry and target. I'm leaning towards walther (my walther ppx is awesome!!) but they only have a 10 round clip.

They are very handy to have around even out of hunting season.

Does it have a shim kit for the stock?

Do they let you bring very much fish home?

I've been considering a catfishing outing to the red river. I've heard of fishing the river on the canada side but wouldn't the U.S. side be just as good? I'd like some input if some of you live in the area or fish the river system. :cheers:
