I will be out in Phillips county trying to fill a white tail tag and when not chasing them I am bringing a bird dog with me and hope that he can help me find a few birds. I was planning on bringing my 9 month old pup for her 1st pheasant hunt but she came up lame on Tuesday with what I think is...
I will be there! It is nice to have another trial close to home (especially with it being mothers day weekend).
I don't think Henry is going to make it this weekend as he has riding lessons with his daughter.
I look forward to seeing you this weekend!
Fritz ran well for Ben but went birdless. It was hot, about 1:45 on Saturday afternoon and the wind died down right as the brace started. On Sunday Fritz jumped over a log with the wind at his back and a bird flushed and he didn't stop to flush so we got picked up. Ali ran like her tail was...
I have hunted for years in a pair of leather Scarpa backpacking boots and they are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. I think they are the SL boots. The leather has taken a beating over the many years chasing birds I think mainly from the CRP. I try to keep the leather conditioned...
I would tell you to talk to them all.
I have been very pleased with Ben Garcia. He has done a great job of training my dogs and over 1/2 of my last litter went to Ben for the Puppy/Derby training and all of the owners are very pleased. I also know Ben has experience with Brittany's.
Here are a few from this season. It started off like gangbusters and has definitely slowed down.
This is a family photo form my last litter - Mom and Dad in the middle with son on the right and daughter on the left of the photo.
8 Roosters before lunch the second weekend for 3 guys...
I don't know if this dog is still looking for his owners or vise versa but I take care of the National GWP Rescue and we have a lost and found section and I would be happy to list the dog there. PM me if you want me to do this.

Just got the truck cleaned out and loaded for pheasant season. Still have to load my personal effects and restock the 1st aid kit but it feels so good to have pheasant season so close. I am like a little kid on Christmas eve. I probably won't be able to sleep tonight!
Dogs have been worked...
Both of these boys found great homes!
Now we have 2 more boys in and both show great promise as far as hunting ability. Wiley is 1.5 years old and Sammy is 2.5 years old and both are kind of blank slates and take to training quickly. You can see photos of them at www.nationalgwprescue.org...
I would recommend you contact the trainers listed above and find out how much an evaluation costs and then have them evaluate your dog after you have told them how you want your dog trained. This will allow them to see your dog and give you a better idea of how long the training will take. It...
This is another rescue dog in from the National GWP rescue:
Hank is a 5 year old who was relinquished by his owners in Wyoming.
He is a well put together dog who has a nice coat. We are told that Hank has hunting experience but I have not confirmed that yet. He has shown interest in the...
This is a posting of a dog who is in the National GWP Rescue who is looking for a new home:
Jake is 5 years old and fairly large for the breed. He is Black and White with a nice wirey coat. He loves to run and play and also knows basic commands.
Previous owners have run Jake on birds but he...
