One of the actions our chapters here take is help pay for a farm bill biologist. Each biologist generally covers a couple counties and they work with the farmers who are interested in implementing conservation practices on their land.

That makes sense. Here in Iowa, when land was going for $10,000 an acre and corn prices were going up, the legislature tried to pass a bill to sell off what little public hunting land we have so it could be farmed too. Once it's gone we won't get it back.

How is the state legislature going to turn Federal land over to the state? They don't have that authority.

I've hunted that area for years. You were shooting released birds. This year in the eastern half of the state we suffered a drought. There are simply not that many birds around. Glad you had a good time.
