Don't know if I would drive that many miles to hunt quail in Missouri. Isn't Georgia known for better quail hunting. Kansas may be a better choice.

Busted a large covey on public land while running a puppy. Didn't want to shoot since the trip was supposed to be for helping him get used to the sound of a shot gun. Was a cool but windy and dry day. Exciting to still see such a large covey again this year.

This is sad news that the bird hunting is so slow in Illinois. I hunted many years in central illinois and always got action. Hunting the put and take areas if OK sometimes, but walking a wild farm ditch is what it is all about. jimmy
