Quail hatch Saw a hen yesterday with 10 chicks. We were walking and when I got close they flushed. They were in a ditch next to a dirt road and they didn't fly far, just over the fence into the field. The chicks looked a little less than half grown.

cabins are warm, dry and pretty well equipped. take towels and bedding. My dogs stay in the dog box, warm and out of the wind. like Jubilee says, if you are hunting them they won't care.

Deer season I don't have any private land to hunt so I plan my hunts to stay out of the field where deer season is open. Missouri is open the last 2 wks of Nov. so I hunt Ks. Ks. is open the first 2 wks of. Dec. so I hunt Mo.

Quail is my bird of choice Pheasants are a bonus but quail keep the dog work going and they are fast! Nothing beats a mixed bag in KS. JimW

If you go to the KDWPT site and look for CSA listing it will give you the entire list for the state. You can see by the address if it is in your area. Buy a CSA license and it is good for the year on CSAreas only.

Lost Gsp sorry about your dog, my only contribution to this is that I was there on Wed. and hunted from end to end and did not see him. good luck - hopefully someone has picked him up and will be looking for you. have you tried lost and found on craigs list?

Lost Dog Still gone although I have rehomed 2 dogs and now have a third one here (english pointer) and I am starting the process of finding his home. Thanks to everyone who has been looking and I hope you continue to do so. I am still checking shelters and rescue groups and maintaining postings...

Eagles I hope they find the people who did this. It really hurts responsible hunters and we all get painted with the same brush when something like this happens.
